Andressa Urach
Andressa Urach, then aged 15 when she began dating Tiago Costa. They stayed together for three months, after they began dating. The couple was blessed with an unmarried child, Arthur Urach Costa born on May 19, 2005. After disagreements over marriage, they separated in 2008, following six years of marriage. Andressa went to her mother's home along with her son. Within six months, Urach quit her job and had to leave her child in the care of his father. Her main goal was to live a better life for her son and a better life in Sao Paulo. Andressa Urach writes in her memoir Morri Para Viver about her sexual abuse by her foster father at the age of 2 and 8. Andressa Urach was able to get rid of it all because her foster grandmother caught her in the act. Andressa then returned home with her mother who did not realize she had suffered abuse until Andressa published her memoir. The woman's interviews confirmed that it was impossible for her before her change of heart. To forgive her abuser was something she thought unattainable. It was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make. I reached out to the person who physically assaulted me. The decision wasn't easy. It was not easy. After many times of prayer and fasting days, I told me on the phone that I was sorry for him. I didn't feel guilt and pleaded for forgiveness. But I did ask forgiveness without justifying my actions. Mariste Urach describes her reaction in a interview with Globo. She describes her reaction when she heard about the sexism that was exhibited on her daughter. Urach traveled to retaliate against the child molester who is located in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul.
