Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who is currently fighting at flyweight of the UFC. She is also the older sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champ as well as the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport began in the form of a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and an award of bronze in 2008 and then a gold in 2011. Then she was named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion of 2016 by IFMA. Antonia started her professional journey at the age of 23 in 2003. Antonina has been awarded numerous titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in The Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko set her first professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She went 3-0, after winning in the second round TKO. The next two bouts came at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko stopped fighting to pursue boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa by a unanimous vote. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She left in 2018 the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera with knees. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended following this victory. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC at TUF's Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi in the unanimous verdict. She then fell in her second fight due to a split verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the prize of the night during the bout. Shevchenko had a win in her first three fights before losing them to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina was recently lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
