Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mix. Her career path has taken her across Broadway to European events and clubs, up to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop the musical profession by singing and playing the piano at the church. She attended Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan; it has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become an essential part of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the director of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine was at the center of attention for the nation during four performances per day at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
